Building Relationships 

I believe that teachers should not only important to build strong caring relationships with their students, but it is equally as important to build strong relationships with their children's parents and families. It's essential to have open communication with parents and families frequently. One of the ways I do this in my classroom is by having a weekly newsletter. I send this out to my student's families on our class website and via email. Sometimes I also print the newsletter for families/parents that are not as tech savvy. Parent's have expressed how much they appreciate the communication. Please refer to the screenshot below of an email that was sent to a Principal from a parent of one of my former students.
