Why am I inspired by
Ann Marie Robinson?
I was inspired by Ann Marie Robinson to create my teapot (picture to the right). At the beginning of this project I was searching through the web to find inspiration for creating my teapot. When I stumbled upon a photo of one of Robinson's teapots, I instantly became inspired. There were many things about her work that I thought were very interesting and unique. From the gaze used on them, to the designs, to even the handle and spout, everything inspired me to create my teapot. The first thing that caught my eye was her handle. I loved the curves it had to it and it's spiral shape. Her glazing and designed were so unique, that I needed to somehow incorporate it into my piece. Actually some of the glazing on my piece was unintentional as it had mixed with another color before I used it. But this did not ruin my project, it actually created the vision I wanted. I wanted my teapot to look simple, but unique and I think I did just that. Thanks to Ann Marie Robinson and her unique artwork as my inspiration, I created exactly what I wanted in my piece.
